چکیده

Automated Identification and in particular, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) promises to assist with the automation of mass customised production processes by simplifying the retrieval, tracking and usage of highly specialised components. RFID has long been used to gather a history or trace of object movements, but its use as an integral part of the automated control process is yet to be fully exploited. Such (automated) use places stringent demands on the quality of the sensor data collected and the method used to interpret that data. In particular, this paper focuses on the issue of correctly identifying, tracking and dealing with aggregated objects in customised production with the use of RFID. In particular, this work presents approaches for making best use of RFID data in this context. The presented approach is evaluated in the context of a laboratory manufacturing system that produces customised gift boxes. ∗Cogent Computing Applied Research Centre, Coventry University, Priory Street, Coventry CV1 5FB, UK †Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge University Engineering Department, Mill Lane, Cambridge CB2 1RX, UK

RFID Based Management of Manufacturing Line

In this paper, an in-process tracking system is proposed to track the status of semi-finished products and coordinate the manufacturing forces. Since its reliability and flexibility, RFID technique has shown big advantages than the conventional Bar-code systems, especially to automate of floor shop management. Based on this availability, RFID solutions are ideal for manufacturers who build seve...

Using a Novel Concept of Potential Pixel Energy for Object Tracking

Abstract   In this paper, we propose a new method for kernel based object tracking which tracks the complete non rigid object. Definition the union image blob and mapping it to a new representation which we named as potential pixels matrix are the main part of tracking algorithm. The union image blob is constructed by expanding the previous object region based on the histogram feature. The pote...

Use of RFID asset management systems for monitoring analytical instrumentation

radio generation and transmission of radio signals by Ernst F. W. Alexanderson in 1906 signalled the beginning of modern radio communication and, subsequently, radio frequency identification (RFID). RFID is the convergence of radio broadcast technology and radar, although many of its early developments are not widely known due to the military significance of this technology. Most documented his...
